Hello and welcome! I’m Vivek, and in this review, we’re diving into a new AI-powered tool called Magic Hour AI. Magic Hour offers a variety of features that allow users to create stunning AI-generated videos, including video-to-video transformations, face swaps (or deep fakes), image-to-video conversions, text-to-video options, and even a music-to-video feature for creating music videos. In this article, I’ll focus on the video-to-video functionality, which I believe is the standout tool, and I’ll walk you through how it works, along with some results I’ve personally experimented with.
Getting Started with Magic Hour AI
Once you log into Magic Hour and click on the New Project tab, you’ll be greeted with a range of templates. Currently, the available templates are mostly basketball-related, and while they look impressive, they’re best suited for basketball-themed videos. If you try using them for non-basketball content, they’ll replace your subjects with basketball players, which might not always give the desired effect. So, for now, I recommend sticking to basketball-themed projects when using these templates.
Let’s move on to the core feature: video-to-video transformation. Magic Hour provides two ways to upload your video: you can either upload a file directly or paste a YouTube URL, which I find particularly useful. For this demo, I’ll go ahead and upload a video file.
How Magic Hour AI Video Editing Works
Once you’ve uploaded your video, you’ll be able to preview it within the platform. For example, here’s a video I worked on. At this stage, you can adjust the crop area to select the portion of the video you want to transform. You also have a few options to customize your video further:
- Start and End Time – Select the specific section of the video you’d like to work with.
- Resolution – Adjust the resolution of the video, with options for higher or lower resolutions.
- Frames per Second (FPS) – You can choose between half FPS (15 fps) or original FPS (30 fps), which affects the video quality and frame cost. Keep in mind that each frame uses one credit, so be mindful of how much credit you have when selecting higher FPS.
Magic Hour offers two model types: Dream Shaper and Realistic. In my experience, Dream Shaper tends to deliver more consistent and visually appealing results, though I plan to test the Realistic model in the future.
Customizing Your Video With Magic Hour AI
Once you’ve selected your video clip and adjusted the settings, it’s time to enter your prompt. I’ve found that leaving the prompt field blank yields the best results for me, but you can experiment with different inputs to achieve unique effects. After that, you can choose the art style for the transformation. Some of my favorite styles include:
- Jinx – This style produces vibrant, cartoonish characters with a lot of consistency.
- Kenui – A solid choice for more detailed character visuals.
- Subzero – Perfect for sci-fi or action-themed videos.
Once your settings are ready, just click Next Step, and the AI will begin processing your video. Depending on the current demand on Magic Hour’s servers, rendering a video can take anywhere from 40 minutes to a few hours. Weekends tend to be busier, so be prepared for longer wait times.

Magic Hour AI Results
While I won’t walk through the entire rendering process in this article, let me share some of the results I’ve achieved with Magic Hour’s video-to-video tool.
- Illustration Style Transformation: In one experiment, I used the Illustration style without any props. The transformation was visually stunning, with seamless outfit transitions and vibrant colors. The AI adapts the character’s appearance to match each outfit, which creates a truly engaging video.
- Jinx Style: For another video, I used the Jinx style, which mimics the look of characters from League of Legends. The results were fantastic, especially in terms of character consistency. Though there were slight facial morphing issues when the character was far from the camera, the overall aesthetic was impressive, with great detail and accurate styling.
- Kugi Style: I also tested the Kugi style, which offers a more artistic, stylized look. As expected, the results were visually striking, though facial consistency again varied depending on the character’s distance from the camera.
- Up-Close Detail: Videos with characters up close to the camera work particularly well with Magic Hour. For example, one video I tested using a Jinx style with a Dream Shaper model produced an exceptional result with very fine detail, especially around the face.
Conclusion
Overall, Magic Hour is an impressive AI video creation tool that offers a lot of potential for creators looking to add a unique touch to their videos. Whether you’re creating music videos, transforming images into animations, or experimenting with deep fakes, Magic Hour gives you the power to bring your visions to life in ways that weren’t possible just a few years ago.
